Thai Yoga Massage Courses
The Intro course are for those curious to check out what Thai Yoga Massage is all about before investing more time to learn the other levels. In the Intro course you will learn basic techniques to be able to give a 60 min Thai session in 3 positions (seated, side-lying and supine). Prone position will be added in Level I, giving you more poses to give a 90 min+ session. Meridians and Acupoints are taught in Level I. Level II and Level III have its own set of sequence and additional Acupoints giving you more options to offering a more customized Yoga Massage session. The poses and transitions gets more advance as you move to the higher levels and the basic techniques are not repeated again. Therefore each of the lower levels are a prerequisite. A handbook with color photos is provided for each level of training and is included in the tuition. All courses are approved by NCBTMB for continuing education credits to those needing hours.

Intro to Thai Yoga Massage

NCBTMB Approved CE hours : 8 hours    

  

Course Description: Introduce Thai Yoga Massage and learn what 

makes this modality unique.  Upon completion of this course you will 

learn enough poses and techniques to give a 60 minute Thai Yoga 

Massage session.

Prerequisite: None

Course Outline and learning outcomes:

  • Learn proper body mechanics and body positioning of both practitioner and client which are fundamental to successfully give a Thai massage.
  • Learn body movements and techniques that are unique to Thai massage.
  • Learn body contacts, the placement of hands, thumbs, palms and feet.
  • Demonstration of 22 poses by instructor of the 3 positions (seated, supine, side-lying).
  • Students will practice with each other after each demonstration.
  • Practice and receive a complete 60 min session with fellow classmates at end of course.

Thai Yoga Massage

with Acupoints Level I

Course Description: Introduce Thai Yoga Massage and Acupoints

Prerequisite: None

Course Outline and learning outcomes:

  • Learn proper body mechanics and body positioning of both practitioner and client which are fundamental to successfully and safely give a Thai massage.
  • Learn body movements and techniques that are unique to Thai massage.
  • Learn body contacts, the placement of hands, thumbs, palms and feet.
  • Learn location of 8 acupoints and the respective organ meridian. The meridians of the gall bladder, liver, stomach and spleen will be covered in this level.
  • Some acupoints are contraindicated during pregancy. Learn 3 of these contraindicated points.
  • Learn the definition and benefits of using the source and luo points. 
  • Demonstration by instructor of the 42 poses in 4 positions (seated, supine, side-lying, prone)
  • Students will practice with each other after each demonstration.
  • Practice and receive a complete 90 min session with fellow classmates at end of course.

Thai Yoga Massage

with Acupoints Level II

NCBTMB Approved CE hours : 21 hours        

Course Description: Another full set of sequence of positions to do another 90 min session.

Prerequisite: Level I

Course Outline and learning outcomes:

  • Learn more body contacts such as knees and learn to use multiple contacts at once.
  • Learn 45 new poses in all four body positions.
  • Learn location of 11 acupoints and the respective organ meridian. The meridians of the lung, large intestine, heart and small intestine will be covered in this level.
  • The Chinese clock and significant categories of points.
  • Demonstration by instructor of the 4 positions (seated, supine, side-lying, prone).
  • Students will practice with each other after each demonstration.
  • Practice and receive a complete 90 min session with fellow classmates at end of course.

Thai Yoga Massage

with Acupoints Level III

NCBTMB Approved CE hours : 21 hours        

Course Description: Adding more body positions, more acupoints and more body contacts to level II.

Prerequisite: Level II

Course Outline and learning outcomes:

  • Learn more body positioning to customize a session.
  • Learn location of acupoints and the respective organ meridian. The meridians of the bladder, kidney, pericardium and triple warmer will be covered in this level.
  • Demonstration by instructor of the 4 positions (seated, supine, side-lying, prone).
  • Students will practice with each other after each demonstration.
  • Practice and receive a complete 90 min session with fellow classmates at end of course.
