COURSE OBJECTIVES: We will delve deeply into the structures (bones, muscles, joints) of the hips and legs.

  • We will cover the anatomy of poses most people find difficult to perform such as pigeon, hero, lotus, etc.
  • You will learn the do’s and don’ts of the postures from an anatomical perspective.
  • We will cover common ailments such as sciatica and plantar fasciitis as well as how to use yoga postures to deal with them.
  • You will learn the attachment sites of the muscles of the hips and legs.
  • Finally, it would not be yoga anatomy training if the psoas is not mentioned.
  • This course is interactive and you will be practicing while you learn so that you can experience the anatomy behind the movement. You will also be given instruction on verbal cues and hands-on assisting as a teacher and then practicing what you’ve learned to reinforce and test out your knowledge.
